Logic Pro 7
I succumbed, and upgraded to Logic Pro 7.
It's wonderful. Somehow its acquisition by Apple has optimised the system. Audio files seem to take a shorter time to process now.
Of course there are a gazillion things I still do not know how to do with Logic (regardless of version). However with Pro 7 I am looking forward to editing voice recordings (once I figure out how to wire up my system to record voices in the first place), and trying out their new drum programming features. If it's as good as Reason then I might not upgrade to Reason 3.0.
Update: There's already a patch for Logic Pro 7 - version 7.0.1. You can install it via Software Update.
